The SweetGeorgia Show, what?
It’s finally here! Welcome to the first ever episode (Episode Zero!) of The SweetGeorgia Show, the podcast that explores the sweet spot between colour, craft, and creativity.
You can download the podcast to your computer or listen to it here right from the website. I’ve also submitted the podcast feed to iTunes and Stitcher, so you’ll be able to subscribe there as well very soon here on iTunes and also on Stitcher Radio now.
In this first “mini” episode, I talk about why I’ve been wanting to start a podcast for the past three years or so and why I’m finally starting. And while it seems like audio is an odd medium for someone whose work is so visual, I am hoping this podcast will become a way to connect with you about the creative process rather than the product.
Since it’s our first session together, I share a small part of my colour story with you. It’s just a tiny glimpse into SweetGeorgia and I’ll share more snippets and stories with you in the coming weeks as we approach our 10-year anniversary of SweetGeorgia Yarns.
The Plan
Over the coming weeks and months, I want to talk with you about inspiration, process, productivity, burnout, culture, mindset, creative flow, and more. Each episode will include a special guest or theme, and we’ll lace them with yarn- and fibre-focused giveaways. At the end of each episode, I hope to include questions and comments from our listeners and community, so be sure to speak up!
This first week, I’ll be releasing three episodes. This one, plus an interview with Aimee Gille of L’Oisive Thรฉ in Paris and another interview with sock specialist and knitwear designer, Kate Atherley. You might recall a survey I did a few months back wherein I asked “if I could interview anyone, who should I interview?”. And I pulled from that list of suggestions some of our future guests. Some of our future guests include Anne Hanson, Laura Nelkin, Carol Feller, Jane Richmond, Heather Zoppetti, Corrina Ferguson, Stephannie Tallent, Sara Lamb, and many more! (I’m sorry I haven’t been able to satisfy those who wanted me to interview Elizabeth Zimmerman and Dave Grohl…)
As it happens, the 10th episode will land nearly on the day of our 10th anniversary, so I’ll be devoting that episode to more stories of SweetGeorgia.
The goal will be to publish one new episode each week on Tuesdays for the next couple of months as we get started. Depending on how quickly I can schedule guests and edit the audio (what a learning curve!), I may settle in at a more relaxed pace of once every two weeks.
As always, I welcome your feedback about what you think is working or not working, useful or not useful. I read each and every email and bit of feedback, whether it’s on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook, so I welcome your comments.
Once the feed gets picked up in iTunes, I encourage you to subscribe and leave us a rating and/or review. It will definitely help others find this content too!
Finally, if you have question that you’d like to ask SweetGeorgia,ย let me know hereย and I’ll try to answer your question in a future episode of this podcast.
Thank you SO MUCH for joining me on this crazy new adventure! I’m all at once terrified and excited. It’s the best place to be.

Wow, I honestly was not expecting your very first episode to be that polished as a lot of podcasters take a few episodes to hit their stride. But then again you are a perfectionist! I’ve long admired you yarn and I’m looking forward to learning more about your inspirations and your process. Now onto the rest of the episodes!
Thank you so much Ramona! haha, ask me how many times I re-recorded that first episode ;)
