We’ve had some overwhelming affection shown to our most popular sock yarn, Tough Love Sock lately… the latest being this morning when we received a copy of the new Winter 2011 issue of Knitscene. They’ve included us in their “New Product” department this time:
SweetGeorgia Yarns’ richly dyed yarns are available in every range, from lace to worsted. Shown here are four of Felicia Lo’s gorgeous fingering weight yarns: CashLuxe Fine in Creme Brulee, BFL Sock in Lettuce Wrap, Tough Love Sock in Coastal, and Superwash Sock in Honey Fig.
Also recently, we had a little mention in Vogue Knitting too:
A Dyeing Breed Since 2005, Vancouver-based designer Felicia Lo has been hand-dyeing her lush artisanal SweetGeorgia Yarns based on her “passionate, relentless and unapologetic love of colour.” Her passion is on fine display in her Tough Love Sock yarn (80% superwash merino/20% nylon; shown in Coastal and Lettuce Wrap) and BFL Sock (80% superwash Bluefaced Leicester wool/20% nylon; shown in Cayenne). See the full range of hand-dyed and -painted yarns at woocommerce-414791-4028440.cloudwaysapps.com
Knitcircus also included us in their yarn reviews for the current Gifts issue:
Tough Love Sock by SweetGeorgia Oh, SweetGeorgia, how I adore your deep, vibrant colorways. This Tough Love Sock base stands up to the daily friction of handknit footwear with its multi-plies, but is totally soft enough for any fingering-weight lace you’d like on your needles. SweetGeorgia offers over 50 repeatable colourways, some variegated, some kettle-dyed, and all delectable. Choose from luxury lace, SeaCell, silk and all-wool bases from lace to aran weight.
Finally, we received the sweetest email from a customer this week who wanted to write us about her skein of Tough Love Sock:
Hi! I’m just emailing to express my deep satisfaction with my Cayenne Tough Love Sock yarn. I’m making Jane Richmond’s Georgia sweater with it and it could not be more beautiful. Every time I pull it out of my bag, someone comments on how much they love the color, its subtle variations, and how gorgeous it looks knit up. I am definitely coming back for more as often as I have funds to do so, and would just like to thank you for the obvious time, love, and true creativity that you put into each skein of yarn.
Thanks so much,
Emma
Blush blush. It’s always so nice to hear directly from customers! So while we still have these buttons (see the top of the post), we’re popping a button in with each order of Tough Love Sock from the shop.
Happy knitting!
Felicia
What a great post! …and how did I miss you in Vogue Knitting, I must have been skimming :) I totally grabbed one of those buttons at your studio during Yarn Harvest, I wear it proudly on my knitting bag. I would make everything out of Tough Love if I could, everything!
oh, and how do we get our fingers on one of those gorgeous buttons?
Ohh yes, with every order of Tough Love Sock on the online shop, we’re including a button in the box! :)
Congrats on the amazing press Felicia.ย Your yarns are incredible.
That’s so awesome!! ย Congrats!! ย I’m thinking I need to make another order and get some Tough Love Sock so that I can get my hands on one of those buttons, cause it’s SO true in my case! ย I absolutely love Tough Love Sock and have made it a mission a year ago to make a cardigan/pullover with every single semi-solid in your collection.
I knit with this yarn and loved it!ย And the ladies at the store where I bought it last February were so right when they told me it was awesome to knit with!ย Congratulations for all!
Yay Felicia!!ย That’s fabulous!
I’m still waiting to learn how to knit socks with the lovely yarn that I got last year….!ย ;)
