SweetGeorgia

Ailey by Barbara Benson

Barbara Benson partnered up with us to create a captivating new shawl that we are ridiculously in love with. Mosaic style colourwork can almost feel like cheating, working stripes and slipped stitches with only one colour at a time. That beautiful simplicity paired with two Party of Five sets results in a show-stopping piece thatย grabs attention everywhere you go.

We love getting to know the designers behind the knit, so we asked Barbaraย โ€ฆ.

What is your favourite part about your design?

With this piece you only cast on a few stitches and your bind off is barely a bind-off. This sets this shape apart from other asymmetrically shaped shawls in that they normally have an enormous bind-off. Itโ€™s nice that the knitting seems to get faster as you near then end.

What is your favourite guilty pleasure?

Binge watching cooking shows and then going out to eat.

What is your favourite colour in the SweetGeorgia colour lineup?

Thatโ€™s not fair! If I have to pick one I would say Glacier. It is just an amazing blue.
