I wanted to highlight this textural cable even further, so I chose to frame it with smaller, more intricate-looking cables. The fitted silhouette with the plain stocking stitch sides, as well as the double button band, work together to give the cables a more sculptural depth.
Amara means eternal, like the beauty of the cables that travel across the back, fronts, and sleeves of this fitted cardigan. Gorgeous details, such as the double hem and deep v-neck, highlight the luxurious depth that enchants from start to finish. Linda worked this design in our Superwash DK, a yarn with an outstanding twist that seems as if it was made for such textural stitch patterns.
Linda’s Tip for Knitting Amara
Learn to enjoy finishing and always sew seams stitch by stitch, just as you knit. My preferred method of doing this is to use a crochet hook and a slipped stitch technique. Behind the Brilliance: Linda’s Five Faves
- Fave way to spend the evening after work: On the terrace knitting and watching boats on the fjord.
- Fave yarn weight: I have two clear favourites, Sport and DK.
- Fave guilty pleasure: Eating licorice on Saturday nights while watching a movie, causing only a temporary break in my knitting.
- Fave fall colours: All shades of purple.
- Fave thing to wear in the fall: Layers of knitwear together with some fabulous boots.
