Knitting, SweetGeorgia

Attu by Tabetha Hedrick

“Colour just flows together in sweet, easy little waves, but the results are so elegant and subtle. It’s a dreamy accessory to give to your loved one.” – Tabetha

Modeled by the lovely Teresa, who heads up our retail operations, Attu is the first design in our Holidays with SweetGeorgia, Vol. 3 collection, featuring easy simple pieces that are perfect for your holiday knitting. With the sultry gradients from our Party of Five sets, Fan & Feather stitch comes alive in this popular asymmetrical shawl shape. Soft texture, gradual increases, and decadent lace promise an accessory that will delight every knitter.

This shawl is worked sideways from point to edge, increasing gradually on one side.ย The pattern is written to fully utilize the yardage of the mini-skeins, working each colour until it runs out completely and then joining in the next colour mid-row. You may join the new colour by wet-splice (for a more natural transition) or by double-stranding for a few stitches. You may use any method you prefer to join the new colour. Colours A and E are worked on the Garter stitch rows in the Fan Pattern. Colours B, C, and D are worked on the lace rows in the Fan pattern.ย The shawl can be worked in one colour by simply disregarding the colour change indications.
