Knitting, SweetGeorgia

Aviat by Corrina Ferguson

This lush cowl-kerchief is a scrumptious delight with twisted stitches, extra length at the front for tucking into your jacket, and a lofty, soft drape. Using only one skein of DK-weight yarn, it knits up quick-as-a-wink for your early autumn accessory needs.

Our dear friend Corrina, who has crafted some beautiful pieces for us before, has outdone herself with this ultra-soft, decadent cowlette that you are absolutely going to want to knit up for your fall wardrobe.ย The cowlette starts with a flat triangle, and is then joined and worked in the round to form the cowl neck. And those aren’t cables you’re looking at, but rather Left and Right Twists; otherwise known as “mock cables.” Have you ever heard of that before? It’s a somewhat quirky way of knitting two stitches in combination, but that’s all it is – knitting. The results are so “cable-like” that it looks quite intricate. If you’re hesitant, don’t be – I’ve got two quick tutorials for you right here:
