Colours on Spinning Fibre

I can’t remember when I received this email request from a customer… maybe 6 months ago? Gmail search has failed me and I couldn’t find the original message, but shortly after we relaunched our website this past January, a customer suggested that we offer photos of all our colourways in spinning fibre, in addition to all the photos we already had for yarn. Sure, we had our colourways dyed on Tough Love and knit into swatches, but those swatch photos didn’t give a good representation of what our dyed fibres look like in braids.

I agreed, it would be an awesome thing to offer on our site, but at the time, it seemed like a bit of an impossibilty. We were busy every day with orders and getting ready for TNNA. There was no time to squeeze in dyeing 81 more pounds of fibre. But after that Winter TNNA where people were surprised to hear that we offered spinning fibre at all, I figured it was time to bite the bullet and do this up right.

I’ve been dyeing spinning fibre since 2005. I started dyeing fibre before I even laid eyes on sock yarn. So I’m really happy to say that we’ve finally taken the time to dye all 81 of our colourways on our favourite Superwash BFL fibre and take photos of every single braid. They are all available here for you to see!

We were so happy to finally fill our booth at the Summer TNNA with every single colour that we dye in BOTH yarn and spinning fibre this time. And people did ask, surprised, “Oh! You do spinning fibre?” and it was lovely to be able to say, “Yes, since forever.”
