This year, as part of something new, we’re having conversations with many of the multicraftual makers in our community. Just hearing about how they work with different crafts in their lives, and how they juggle between the different crafts they work on.
I’m happy to share with you another conversation with one of our SweetGeorgia Ambassadors—on today’s vlog, I’m speaking with Debbie Held, a spinner and writer from Atlanta, Georgia. We’re going to have a conversation about how spinning is a part of her morning ritual and a part of her daily life.
Debbie has been working with SweetGeorgia since 2019, when we first launched our Ambassador program. I invited Debbie to be a part of this Ambassador group because she’s such a wonderful spinner. But not only in her own skills and technique, but in the way she encourages people to try spinning for the first time. It’s a kind of energy that I brings a lot of positivity to spinning. We’ve worked together on a number of different workshops for the School of SweetGeorgia… Debbie teaches how to work with supported spindles and e-spinners, and most recently a course about how to work with blending boards!
