Allison Thistlewood is a Canadian living in the UK and growing a community of passionate knitters and spinners there. Together with her “Yarn in the City” business partner Rachel Brown, she is blogging, podcasting, and running The Great London Yarn Crawl. She has also been our SweetGeorgia sales rep in London for the past 2.5 years and is always keeping us in the loop with what’s happening with knitters across the pond. Listen to Allison and I chat about how she and Rachel are building an amazing craft community in London through the upcoming Great London Yarn Crawl.
If you are interested in joining the yarn crawl, GLYC2015 and the Pop-Up Marketplace will be held on Saturday 5th September, 2015!

SweetGeorgia Soakbox Giveaway
Allison helped SweetGeorgia create some special limited-edition Soakboxes. Each Soakbox has a skein of our SweetGeorgia Merino Silk Fine as well as a bottle of Soak and a shawl pattern designed by BooKnits in the UK. For the past year, weโve been somewhat restricted in that these Soakboxes were only available for sale in the UK. So if you lived in the US or Canada and you wanted one, you had to order from one of our UK suppliers and also pay UK prices and shipping from the UK. When Allison came to visit us from London this summer, she brought with her a few boxes that we can make available for our North American friends!
For this week’s giveaway, we are offering one SweetGeorgia Soakbox to a lucky listener. To enter, listen to the episode to find out the secret phrase then visit the giveaway page to enter. Good luck!
Thanks for Listening!

Yes! I also go to all the yarn shops I can find when I travel. When travelling solo, I try to book hotels close to yarn shops. I’m glad I’m not the only one who does this :)
