Amy Herzog is the author of Knit to Flatter and Knit Wear Love and designs sweaters that flatter the figure and are easy to modify. Imagine that! Her designs have been featured in Twist Collective, Knitscene, Interweave Knits, Knitty and more. Sheโs the knitting expert on American Public Televisionโs show โKnit and Crochet Nowโ and also teaches classes in person as well as online through Craftsy.
Today on the show, I talk with Amy Herzog, a knitwear designer who specializes in sweater knitting. In our conversation, youโll learn how Amy melded her passion for computer science and technology with her skill and talent in knitwear design and created an online software program called CustomFit. CustomFit allows you to enter in your personal body measurements along with the gauge of a yarn that you love and have swatched with, and it produces a knitting pattern that is completely customized to you. I think by the end of our conversation you might be convinced that knitting from a customized pattern that is designed to look good on you is the only way to go!

Custom Fit Maker Plus Giveaway
I thank Amy for joining me on the show today, even during her crazy book deadline. Iโm really SO excited about this CustomFit program and once I finish the work on my book AND I am back to my normal shape and size after this pregnancy, I am definitely going to make myself a CustomFit sweater! If you are interested in trying it out, Amy has generously offered a free subscription to her Maker Plus program which includes an unlimited number of generated patterns. One lucky listener can win this subscription OR one of Amyโs patterns.
To win a copy of this book, listen to the episode to find out the secret phrase then visit the giveaway page to enter. Good luck!
Thanks for Listening!

The link to the giveaway page isn’t working. I also typed in the alternate website you mentioned on the podcast, but that doesn’t work either. Also, for some reason I always have a difficult time downloading your podcast. I click the download icon but nothing happens. Just thought you should know. Could it be a problem on my end?
I get the podcast through iTunes so that hasn’t been a problem for me but I can’t get to the giveaway page either so I don’t think it’s just you!
Sorry for the mixup with the giveaway link! It should be working now! http://woocommerce-414791-4028440.cloudwaysapps.com/giveaways/018/
I can’t remember where I’m supposed to make a comment about people I’d like to hear you interview – so I’m putting it here and I hope it isn’t too much of a bother. I’d love to hear you interview Sarah Anderson and/or Jacey Boggs Faulkner and/or Jillian Moreno… I love the spinning interviews. In terms of designers I’d love to hear from Susan Claudino (Noknitsherlock on Rav)
Thank you so much Catie! These are great suggestions! I already have an interview scheduled with Jacey soon, so that will happen in the near future :) I’ll keep all the others in mind too!
Love Amy’s ideas and design aesthetic. Now if someone would help me decide which one to knit!!
