Phew! Welcome to our 27th episode of The SweetGeorgia Show! As you might know, this show is going to be our season finale as we take a break and celebrate getting this project off the ground in 2015. The break also gives me a chance to finish my book, deliver a baby, and revisit how we can make this show and SweetGeorgia even better in 2016. I don’t have a firm launch date for when the next season will begin, since a lot of that will depend on my level of sleep deprivation in the new year. But I hope that in the meantime you’ll catch up on any episodes of the show that you might have missed since we started. And I hope you are a subscriber to our newsletter, because then you’ll definitely hear about when we start back up again.
If you haven’t had a chance to send me your feedback about what you’ve like and disliked about the show, I really would be so grateful if you visited woocommerce-414791-4028440.cloudwaysapps.com/podcastsurvey and let me know your thoughts.
In this episode, we talk to Jacey Boggs Faulkner. Jacey has been spinning for 13 years, teaching spinning for 11 years, writing about spinning for 10 years, and running a magazine about spinning for 3 years. As the founder and editor in chief of PLY magazine, you might say her whole life revolves around spinning, that is when it’s not revolving around her wonderful husband, her amazing 3 kids, and her ever-growing homestead and animal collection. We talked about Jacey’s start in spinning and how it led her to launch the magazine, discussing how she decided to focus on a print-based media. And of course, we talked about the future of PLY magazine and how she juggles it all, balancing family and work.

Hi Felicia, I was so excited to hear this episode. I got a high whorl spindle for Christmas along with some fibre and a gift certificate to take the beginner spindle class at my LYS. I cannot wait to try my hand at this. I’d heard about PLY magazine on The Knit Girllls podcast so it was great to hear more in depth from Jacey. I am the kind of learner who loves to read everything I can so I’d love to win the back issues. At the moment I’m getting a Page Not Found message. Either way, thanks for this great interview. Best of luck during your time off. I’ll be anxiously awaiting your return, but I suppose you can be forgiven for having to deliver a baby and all. ;)
Thanks Ramona! The link should be working now here: http://woocommerce-414791-4028440.cloudwaysapps.com/giveaways/027/
Wonderful interview. I’m a beginning spinner and hadn’t heard about Ply – now I can’t wait to get my hands on ALL of the issues!! Alas the link to your giveaway page doesn’t seem to work for me.
Thanks Nancy! Here is the link now: http://woocommerce-414791-4028440.cloudwaysapps.com/giveaways/027/
Thanks – the one in your notes worked this morning. Fingers crossed!!
