We’re in the last week of the February Hold-Along… and I’ve made ZERO progress this week.
Between kid sick, kid sick, kid injured, kid sick again and some extra work across my desk, I’ve mostly just been hanging on tight, so I don’t get thrown overboard. It’s been a tough couple of weeks! I’m sure I’m not the only one.
I want to remind us (me and you) to not give up. Setbacks totally and fully suck, but if we can take the time to pause, reflect, and practice some self-care, we’ll find something a little more meaningful… a little longer connection with our art. Not a bad thing.
Now that I’m done with my TED Talk (wink), check out some of the progress y’all are making! I’m so inspired by the way you guys are combining colours and yarn!
The Next Hold-Together
A reminder that our next Hold-Together (video get-together) will be Tuesday, February 28, at 4 pm EST / 3 pm CST / 1 pm PST. To ensure a better video quality and chat capabilities, we’re going to host it on Zoom (but another Discord one is not out of the question, because the game aspect on there is FUN!).
Please, check Discord and the Hold-Along Group in the school for the Zoom link. I’ll also post a link here on the blog on the morning of.
PS. I may or may not be giving away a couple of patterns and such during the call. Wink.
Giveaway
Thank you all SO MUCH for your beautiful comments this past week about your love of this fibre craft we get to do. I used a random number generator to pull a name from the list and out popped Lisa Holland!
Look for an email from me later today, Lisa.
I have another giveawaaaaay! This one is for the Discord peeps—share a photo of your progress in the Discord Hold-Along channel and/or the Hold-Along Group on the School forums (extra shares mean extra entries!) between now and next Monday night, I’ll randomly pick a winner for another $25 SweetGeorgia Yarns Gift Card.
Next Project for You
If you’re anything like me, you’re already thinking about what your next project is going to be when the Hold-Along is over and I have a great suggestion. Our friend, Lisa K. Ross, has a “Simply Fun MKAL” starting on March 2 and since she’s designed it with our Party of Five sets in mind, you know it’ll be pretty! Grin.
This design was created to bring JOY to your needles by playing with colour and simple textures. All the stitches are easy to work, but the unique construction will introduce both challenges and surprises. I’m always hoping to guide your knitting skills to the next level, so I’ve created video tutorials and diagrams to help along the way. It’s an intermediate pattern, but I love helping adventurous beginners level up! I want this to be a HAPPY new accessory, and a knitting experience that is SIMPLY FUN!
Grab a Party of Five set now and then head over to Ravelry to grab the pattern. Lisa even has a discount code to take 25% off through Feb 28: READYFORFUN.
Look forward to seeing your progress in our final week of the February Hold-Along!
