When Ann-Marie Jackson submitted her design earlier this year, I was immediately smitten with this light and flowing top with drawstrings at the shoulders. It seemed airy and blousy โ the perfect thing to throw overtop some clam diggers or shorts. Knit up in our 50/50 merino and silk blend lace weight yarn, Merino Silk Lace, it works in these in-between seasons too as a great transition. Not to hot, not to cool.
This sleeveless top is worked from the bottom up in one-piece and then divided into fronts and back at the armholes. Welts are worked for the drawstring channels. I-cords are worked for drawstrings and threaded into the garment when the buttonbands are added. The construction is easy and genius and provides for lots of positive ease and flexible fit.
Ann-Marie is a wonderful new knitwear designer who is both inspired and inspiring. Her photographs and aesthetic are full of delicate detail and a sense of calm. She’s recently been published in Twist Collective too and self-publishes under her company, Caribou Knits. Check out all her work here ยป
