When I first started knitting, I was quite the ambitious knitter. While not in and of itself a bad thing, I definitely got burned when I reached for advanced patterns without having established the basics. What I learned through that process, though, was that I did much better with patterns that let me grasp a single new skill. And the results were new mad skills, confidence, and a lot of fabulous knits.
