I’ve always enjoyed crafting and painting. Once I learned the basics of crochet and knitting, I started experimenting and creating my own designs and it’s been a fun journey. This cowl, with the way the colours and stitch patterns play off of each other, is an example of that creative exploration.
Inspired by the steep layers and ridges of Gimli Peak in British Columbia, this cowl uses stripes of bold colour and texture to pay homage the gorgeous scenery surrounding this rock. Our Party of Five sets enhance the interplay of texture and hue. This cowl is deliciously warm, bright, and playful.
Jessie’s Tip for Knitting Gimli Peak
This is a great way to learn new stitch patterns and experiment.ย Make sure to keep the tension consistent, though. Some of the stitch patterns are naturally less stretchy than others and you want your cowl to fit nicely over your head.
Behind the Brilliance: Jessie’s Holidayย Faves
- Favorite way to spend the holidays: With family, sharing old memories and creating new ones.
- Favorite holiday colours: Blue, silver
- Favorite holiday treat: Peanut blossom cookies
- Favorite thing to wear for a fancy holiday event: I have a black jersey dress from Vera Wang (it’s actually a nightie, but no one has to know).ย It’s made on the bias and fits great.ย It’s easy to dress up or dress down and is super comfy.
