High Tea with Tabetha Hedrick

“When tea becomes ritual, it takes its place at the heart
of our ability to see greatness in small things.
Where is beauty to be found? In great things that, like everything else, are doomed to die,
or in small things that aspire to nothing,
yet know how to set a jewel of infinity
in a single moment?”
– Muriel Barbery, The Elegance of the Hedgehog

Whether filled with citrus notes or an earthen, herbal depth, when I inhale the fragrant steam of a cup of tea, a bit of magic seems to happen – the world seems to slow down for a minute. Just for a minute. In the crazy busy-ness of the lives we live, that momentary stillness is both blissful and uplifting, soothing and awakening. Knitting, with its soft movements and rhythmic motion is very much like that cuppa’ tea, reminding me to pause, even for a moment, to experience the joy hidden in the quiet.

That notion is the inspiration behind the pieces in this small mini collection that I am thrilled to present to you! Each design is infused with simplicity paired with delicate, subtle elegance – not too unlike those warm beverages we love to sip. Perfectly suited for high tea at your favourite decadent salon or reticent summer mornings on the patio, each piece offers just a hint of lace and a touch of texture, while remaining deliciously uncomplicated, lightweight, and gorgeous.

High Tea is available as an eBook and as individual patterns, both HERE on our website and on Ravelry. I hope, truly, that each project brings you to the essence of spring with great comfort and delight.
