A tale of two textures! One of the most enjoyable parts of my work is seeking out and sourcing new yarns for us to dye. These two new yarns are intriguing additions to our line up:

Superwash Six

Superwash Six

Superwash Six is our new bulky superwash merino yarn that is made up of 6 plies spun together. Similar to our Superwash DK (3 plies) and Superwash Worsted (4 plies), Superwash Six is a logical extension of our 100% superwash merino line and will replace our old Superwash Chunky yarn. Superwash Six is a bouncy and round yarn that works up in the same 3.5 sts/in gauge as our Superwash Chunky. It’s super quick to knit up and will make wonderful last-minute handknit gifts.

Silk Fog

Silk Fog is a lightweight and hazy, warm and fuzzy fingering weight yarn that can be knit up into warm and soft shawls and garments. Spun from 76% cultivated silk and 24% fine kid mohair, this yarn is deliciously shimmery, fuzzy, and warm. The yarn has an interesting structure: a fingering weight single yarn of silk is wrapped with a plied, thread-like kid mohair yarn that lends the delicate halo to the yarn. Soft and fuzzy like our Silk Mist, Silk Fog is thicker and more suitable to garments than the more fragile Silk Mist.

We have to also say farewell to some other yarn bases as we make room for these new ones. We are gradually discontinuing our Superwash Sock, Merino Silk Aran, Superwash Chunky, and Spun Silk Lace yarns. They are still up on the online shop for now, but once we finish dyeing all these yarns in our studio, we won’t restock them. Get them while you can!
