Knitting, Spinning, Weaving, Taking Back Friday

Multicraftual Maker on Felicia's Taking Back Friday vlog

I’ve been spending a lot of time making things recently, and I have so many things to share with you in today’s vlog video, but not a lot of things I can actually show!

Right now, I’m rushing to finish weaving a scarf for this year’s upcoming holiday collection. I’m excited that this is the first time we’ll have a weaving pattern in the collection, which is more typically knitting patterns.ย The project will be a houndstooth pattern, which you would recognise houndstooth right away โ€“ such as in the iconic Chanel suit.ย I’m also currently making a houndstooth weaving workshop for the School of SweetGeorgia, as well as warping another project that will be a new SOS weaving workshop: Faux Ikat. Plus with an upcoming spinning course we’ll record at the new studio with Katrina Stewart of Crafty JAK’s… there will definitely be a lot of filming taking place soon!

Today, I’m happy to also share with you another new project that is now available on the School โ€“ the Multicraftual Maker. Many months ago, I put out a video called the Multicraftual Mindset. It was this idea that us, as makers, we like to knit, spin, weave, dye, and do all these different fibre arts. But it can sometimes leave us feeling spread thin. It can leave us feeling as though we’re doing so many things, but not making progress towards any single thing. I’ve been through this experience and have many things I’ve added to my creative practice, and put them all together in a package to share. It’s now available for all members (free!) on the School of SweetGeorgia, so anyone can access the workshop! Included is both videos for each segment of the e-book, or you can download all of the content to read as a PDF.

Please also join us on the SOS discussion forum and share your thoughts with us about the Multicraftual Maker. If you have ways of managing working on multiple crafts all at the same time, I’d love to hear what works for you!

Watch today’s Taking Back Friday video to hear more about this new project, as well as all of the projects I’ve been working on lately.
