Delicate, lightweight layers and soft, shimmering hues are just the ticket for this Indian Summer. At least, that’s how I’ve been feeling lately. The mornings are slowly becoming brisk here in eastern Tennessee and as I settle into my office, hot cup of java in hand, I wrap up in a comforting shawl before starting the day. Mauka fits the bill.

56″ / 142 cm wingspan, 21 1/2″ / 54.5 cm from center-back to edge

Yarn
2 skeins SweetGeorgia Yarns Tough Love Sock, one each in (MC) Lavender and (CC) Silver (425 yds / 388 m per 4 oz / 115 g skein; 80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon)

Needles & Notions
Size 7 US / 4.5 mm circular needle, 32″ / 80 cm long
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Stitch markers, yarn needle

Gauge
21 sts and 24 rows = 4″ / 10 cm in Garter stitch, stretched lightly and blocked.
Note that gauge is not crucial, but will affect required yardage and finished size.
