Knitting, SweetGeorgia

The interplay between the two yarns is so beautiful and makes it exciting every time you change the yarn. I was inspired by the seafoam stitch, looking like relaxing waves of the ocean, and when it is all put together, the fabric very elegant.

Ondicelle, pronounced on-di-ch-eh-lleh, means “little waves” in Italianย and this beautiful stole captures the essence of that simple phrase. Gentle movement and gorgeous stitches exude luxury when blended with CashLuxe Fine and Superwash Worsted. It is, simply, a stunning piece.

Its important when carrying the yarn up the side that the yarns are twisted every time at the right-hand side of the work, but also that the carried yarn is not pulled too tight so that it there is enough give for blocking. What I do is to knit the first 3-4 sts of the RS row then stop and make sure that the tension is even and all sts are neat (pulling gently on the carried yarn as necessary), then I give a tug on the right-hand side edge such that the carried yarn is pulled out to the maximum the fabric will allow.ย  That way you wonโ€™t get any puckering on that edge on the finished piece and it can block to its full glory!

  • Faveย way to spend the evening after work: on the sofa knitting of course!
  • Faveย yarn weight:ย So toughโ€ฆ.I think it would have to be a heavy fingering.
  • Fave guilty pleasure:ย Swiss chocolate (its just the best โ€“ and living in Zurich Iโ€™m surrounded by it!)
  • Fave fall colours: Plum tones.
  • Fave thing to wear in the fall: A simple lacework, worsted weight hat that protects me from the wind but doesnโ€™t make me too warm.

Colour Options to Try

When Madeleine said she was inspired by plum tones, we thought it’d be fun to see different variations of just that! What do you think?
