Organizing a “Multicraftual” Craft Room

Felicia Lo organizing a multicraftual craft room space for knitters, weavers, sewers, spinners and more.

Let’s talk about organizing a craft room specifically for “multicraftual makers”. There are a lot of yarn crafts I do, and so, I have a lot of yarn equipment. There is a large variety of tools and things needed in order to do these crafts. My attic craft room holds my weaving loom, knitting machines, sewing station, and yarn stash.

On today’s Taking Back Friday video,ย I want to talk about how I fit nearly all of my multicraftual yarn activities into my attic space, and how you can organize your own space as well.ย I’ve created a station for each craft, making the space a little bit more efficient so that I’m not spending precious time looking for things as opposed to actually enjoying time making things.

How do you organise your own craft space? Do you have your yarn stash out and ready to look at, or do you have it stored away? How do you store your equipment, or where do you put all of your bits and pieces you need to do all the crafts that you love? I would love to hear from you in the comments!

Thanks for the tour of your creative space. I’m in the process of setting up my “attic” space and am finding it very challenging . I’m definitely going to buy more carts to hold all the accessories. That will really help. I did put up a pegboard and am using that to create a color wheel with yarn. It makes for a beautiful wall and it helped me to see where I need to expand my choices for creating more interesting color projects. Yep I keep buying in the same colorways. LOL. I have a large monitor and laptop as well as a printer which I need to find a better way to fit in as it it taking up a lot of valuable space along one wall. Any suggestions from our group would be appreciated.
