I just opened my calendar to glance at the month ahead and, people! We might be facing a potentially mad, mad month. Oh, but it’s the best kind of madness, though! Even with the threat of nights where I pull my hair in crazed panic, it’ll be a month ofย all new things that make the hard work completely worth it: collection launches, birthdays and parties, new yarns and colours, and lots (and lots and lots and lots) of knitting!
First, I’ve been bent over the computer for weeks editing and checking, rechecking and tweaking the final touches of …
wait for it…
Spring with SweetGeorgia, Vol. 2!
Come March 14, you’ll be able to get your fibre-loving fingers on our newest pattern collection, featuring stunning designs from artists like Fiona Ellis (she may or may not have designed the teaser pic at the top of the post. Wink, wink), Francoise Danoy, Meg Roke, Lotta Groeger, Fatimah Hinds, Jennifer Beever, and Madeleine Windsor. Pieces that’ll remind you that colour and yarn are year-round adventures.
And then we have birthdays – mine, my stepdad’s, my mother-in-law’s, and my daughter, who is turning into a 12-year old tween. [Insert potential meltdown here]. How can I, a ridiculous, yet relatively-young woman, have an almost 12-year old? But, I digress … for my birthday this year (March 15, in case you were wondering), I’m challenging myself to purposefully look for ways to do Random Acts of Kindness. Like buying the gal behind me in line a cup of coffee, Or perhaps giftingย a knitting pattern to a strangerย on Ravelry (it IS the day after the Collection launches). Or drop off some new socks and blankets to the local homeless shelter. Maybe you could participate, too!
And then there’s all the knitting – as it stands, I have about 9 projects all due by the end of April. If you’re guessing that I’m going to be subsisting off of coffee, then you’d be right. My early birthday present to myself was a Ninja Coffee Bar and I have recently discovered that Ghirardelli caramel sauce might be the best thing in the world for my homemade lattes. I’ll get to play with the new yarns and new colours and that, my friends, when paired with your own caramel latte, is what dreams are made of.
Somewhere in the midst of this, I’m painting my kitchen, getting ready for a tween-ager-party (another meltdown here) at the end of the month, and enjoying a visit from my mom the week of the 18th. Here’s to spring and its oftentimes suddenly-exploding entrance! What’s lining your project pages this month?
(PS – we caught the typo earlier, but I did warn you it was getting a little hairy around here. Haha!)
