My inspiration was a combination of the architecture of the shawl and the stitch pattern. I love designing shawls with unusual constructions and this mirroring leaf pattern was the perfect insert.

Corrina Ferguson is well known for her stunning, unique shawls and Reiland, knit in our new Superwash Sport, is no exception! Lace reminiscent of falling leaves and a unique construction result in a shawl that is as positively exquisite to knit as it is to wear. Shawl enthusiasts will delight in the interesting rounded-rectangular shape with a drape that is what dreams are made of, perfect for those chilly fall days.

Stitch markers are your friend! If in doubt use more – just make sure to have special ones to correspond to the chart or the written instructions. Also, if you don’t read charts, check out my simple chart tutorial and you can see how the charts relate to the written instructions. https://picnicknits.com/tutorial-tuesday-chart-reading/

Behind the Brilliance: Corrina’s Five Faves

Favourite way to spend Saturday morning: I love Saturday mornings spent taking a long walk with friends – I’m always up early and it’s a great start to my day.

Favourite knitting tool or fiber: I am obsessed with my Knitter’s Pride Knit Blockers. They are perfect for blocking swatches and sweater pieces.

Favourite guilty pleasure: Maple Street Biscuit Company. They know my order by heart.

Favourite colour: My current favorite colours are turquoise and red. And yes, together. Please.

Favourite thing to wear in the fall: Fall? What fall? We don’t do fall in Florida but it does get a smidge cooler. But I’m looking forward to Rhinebeck again this year so I can wear some cozy sweaters.
