Do you have plans for this summer? Perhaps you’d like to join me in Brighton, the lovely seaside resort in the south of England. I’m thrilled to say that I’ve been invited to teach and speak at the first-ever Unwind Brighton yarn and fibre festival! Unwind Brighton will be held July 12 and 13 and include everything from classes and talks to a full marketplace. I’ll be teaching a 3-hour workshop called “Spinning Hand-Dyed Fibres” which will cover many of the techniques that I teach in my Craftsy.com class. I’ll also be speaking on choosing colours for knitting projects and again on our “Colour Stories” which will be about the inspiration and colour theory behind many of our SweetGeorgia colourways.
There’s also a ton of other teachers attending, including Ysolda Teague, Kristin Kapur, Carol Feller, Amy Singer of Knitty.com, Veera Vรคlimรคki, Amy Hendrix of Madelinetosh, and Olga Buraya-Kefelian. Seriously, if you can make it to the UK in July, it will be an awesome knitterly time. Registration just started, so go make your travel plans!
I’ll be travelling with my husband and baby Russell who will be exactly 8 months old. If you guys have any suggestions on travelling with a little one, do let me know!
I am sad I left my Victoria wheel in the US or I would have signed up for your spinning class. Will there be a SweetGeorgia yarns booth at the marketplace?
That’s definitely the plan! We hope to have a booth at Unwind Brighton!
