Each week, Felicia comes to the Taking Back Friday space to talk about something to do with the fibre arts and the importance of making time to make things. Shared in the video episodes are all the latest things she and SweetGeorgia are doing in the world of knitting, spinning, dyeing, and weaving.

- The first handwoven colour and weave gamp sample shown is by Amanda Wood, made for the filming of Amanda’s Colour & Weave on Rigid Heddle course, coming to the School of SweetGeorgia in the new year (end of January, 2022). Yarn used in the sample is Gist Beam 3/2 Organic Cotton. Amanda also teaches the Clasped Warp & Weft on Rigid Heddle course at the SOS site.
- At the School, we have a Weaving Study Group: Twills on 4-Shafts starting January 6, 2022. Then in the summer, we are planning for a study group using rigid heddle looms. Also coming out next year close to the summer is the recently filmed Eco-Printing with Natural Dyes course taught by Caitlin ffrench. You can find Caitlin’s other natural dyeing classes among the dyeing courses here.
- Shown in the video are two alpaca yarns: Gist Ode Alpaca yarn and Fyberspates Cunulus alpaca and silk blend. Also the Finnish Tukuwool DK and Fingering yarns which would be great for sweater knitting and colourwork projects.

It is knit using our SweetGeorgia Superwash DK yarn. This pattern is a gender and size inclusive design, and I encourage you to check out the pattern and the story and intention behind the design.
- Knitter’s Delight mini-skein set which includes a sampling of five different SweetGeorgia fingering-weight yarns, hand-dyed in a fun combination of colours.
- Using my handspun yarn, spun during our SOS Spinning Study Group in the fall, I am knitting the Nightshift by Andrea Mowry. I’d love to hear what your thought process was with mixing and blending the colours together if you’ve knit this pattern before.
