Hello, dearest friends!
I’ve had this notion of “lightness” on my mind the last couple of weeks. Whether from the slow dissipation of winter or from the little peeks of daffodils opening their buds, these past few weeks have seen a gentle lifting in every aspect of my making and creativity.
Out of curiosity, do you know how many definitions there are for the word?
– state of having sufficient natural light
– quality of being pale in colour
– quality of having little weight
– lack of pressure or heaviness of movement
– quality of requiring little mental effort
– quality of being easily done
This idea of lightness, in every sense of these meanings (especially the paleness from too much rain/snow and not enough sun!), is a welcome relief. The Jack Frost fellow brought a particular heaviness to this year — especially to my knitting mojo. Now, though, it feels as though all my knitting dreams are possible. My fingers are light as a feather and swift as the wind. I’m itching to pair this sudden onset of inspiration with the delicacy of our new SeaSilk Lace to be SURE!
