Wild About Spring Colours

Carrot Thief sock blank gradient knit into Wild Orange lace shawl by Tabetha Hedrick

When spring starts springing, so, too, do the early shoots of cold-hardy plants. It’s enticing to see the first signs of the garden bounty to come (especially if you’re part of the bunny population that slips in to take an early bite). Bring those inviting hues into your knitting with our new Carrot Thief sock blank colourway and the Wild Orange shawl!

Carrot Thief Steals Colour-Loving Hearts

With lush yellows merging with bright green, this gradient is just as inviting as carrot greens swaying in the spring breeze.

The limited-edition colourway features opulent shades of golden yellow, grey, morning-sky blue, and a bold pop of green. Bring the garden inside to all of your knit, crochet, and weaving projects with the gorgeous Carrot Thief sock blank.

We’ve designed the colour sections in this 425 yd / 388 m single-strand blank to be long enough for lace and texture to stand out. A single sock blank is ideal for any single-skein accessory you’ve been dreaming of, like our new shawl pattern, Wild Orange.

Wild About Wild Orange

Diamond lace fans across the fabric of this triangular shawl as delicately as early morning rains. With a deceptively simple repeat and construction, this knit accessory is one you’ll want to make more than once.

I had great fun taking the typical asymmetrical shawl shape and flipping it on its head. The results bring a lovely, delicate curve to the wingspan, making it wrap-able and wearable all season. Whether knit in a semi-solid colour (I’d LOVE to knit this in Dark Orchid) or a gradient, like the Carrot Thief sock blank, the results are totally a little wild delight.
